We’re a search-first digital agency helping Kenya businesses dominate Google. Our clients include growing startups and established brands in Kenya. We’re growing fast and need someone who can execute SEO campaigns at a high level.
The Role
We need an SEO specialist who can execute client campaigns. You’ll own the day-to-day execution for 4-6 client accounts. Our Head of SEO provides the strategy and direction. You make it happen. This is NOT a junior role. You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
SEO Execution:
- Conduct technical audits using Ahrefs, Sitebulb, and Google Search Console
- Keyword research and competitor analysis
- Create detailed content briefs for writers
- Execute link building campaigns
- Implement on-page SEO
- Track rankings and monitor site performance
- Identify opportunities and issues proactively
Client Management:
- Monthly performance reports (rankings, traffic, conversions)
- Client update emails and occasional calls
- Translate technical SEO into business language
Team Coordination:
- Manage our content & SEO interns (assign tasks, review work)
- Coordinate with WordPress support when technical changes needed (make changes where necessary)
Tools You’ll Use:
- Ahrefs (primary)
- Google Search Console & Analytics
- Sitebulb
- WordPress
- ClickUp (project management)
- SEO Tab
What You Need
Must Have:
- 2-4 years hands-on SEO experience
- Strong technical SEO knowledge
- Proven ability to improve rankings and organic traffic
- Comfortable using Ahrefs
- Can implement SEO changes in WordPress
- Excellent English (written and spoken)
- Self-directed – you manage your own workload and deadlines
- Based in Nairobi
Bonus Points:
- Agency experience (you know the pace and client management)
- Experience with page builders like Elementor
- Link building experience in African markets
- Content strategy or writing skills
Not Required:
- Paid ads or social media
- A WordPress developer (basic implementation skills are enough)
- Perfect (we’d rather have someone who delivers good work consistently than someone who overthinks everything)
What Success Looks Like
Month 1:
- You’ve audited all 6 client accounts
- You’ve identified quick wins and started executing
- You’re communicating clearly with clients
Month 3:
- You’re managing client accounts independently
- Rankings are improving across the board
- Head of SEO only needs to check in weekly
- Clients are happy with communication and results
Month 6:
- You’re the SEO execution engine
- We’re closing more clients because you can handle the delivery
Compensation & Structure
Salary: 35-50K/month (based on experience) + Profit sharing each month
Structure:
- 30-day trial period at agreed rate
- Remote work, flexible hours
- Weekly check-ins with Head of SEO
- Fast-paced, small team environment
